Rome, 6 March 2025 – From today, Italian small and medium-sized enterprises have a new ally against cyber threats: helmon is born, the innovative solution that makes cybersecurity accessible to all companies, including the smallest ones, with comprehensive, tailored and transparent protection.
helmon was founded by CDP Venture Capital SGR and Cy4Gate, two leading players in their respective sectors, which have joined forces to close the cybersecurity gap of Italian SMEs. Based in Rome, helmon offers an end-to-end approach to cybersecurity, from risk assessment to incident response, through to insurance coverage against residual cyber risks.
SMEs and cybersecurity: a scenario that calls for a paradigm shift
SMEs account for over 95% of Italy’s business fabric and, according to reliable estimates, the cybersecurity market for SMEs is set to exceed 750 million euros by 2028, driven by the increase in digital threats and by new European regulations on cybersecurity, including the NIS2 Directive.
Many companies, however, struggle to adopt effective solutions, often due to a lack of in-house expertise and the high complexity of traditional offers.
In addition, fewer than 5% of SMEs have insurance coverage against cyber risks, despite the exponential growth in cyberattacks and the increasing effectiveness of these protection tools.
